Roadside assistance for serious accidents

We have been involved in a serious accident. How to act in these cases?

Having an accident is much more common than it seems.

If we are involved in an accident with victims or serious material damage, the first piece of advice is to stay calm.

Emergency services must be notified. The most indicated number is the Emergency Telephone 112. It is the only number for the European Union.

We will have to report if there are deaths, injuries, material damage and the exact location where we are. The Emergency Service will be in charge of sending the Police and Ambulance if necessary.

Should I notify Punta Marina Rent a Car?

Yeah. It is essential to contact the Punta Marina Rent a Car Roadside Assistance service. You must have the car’s license plate on hand (you can find it on the key and also on the car) or the contract number. You will also have to indicate your exact location.

Will insurance cover me if I am guilty?

Fully covered, you will only have to take charge of the Excess of €150.

Under no circumstances will any of your personal belongings be covered by the car rental insurance offered by Puntamarina Rent a Car.

You must then contact Punta Marina Rent a Car and inform them. They will also help you with all the steps you will need to follow.

Make sure you still have the car key. You’ll have to take it to the office.

If you have also lost the car key, the theft of the vehicle will be considered to have occurred because you have lost the car key, or left it in the ignition. In this case you will be responsible for the total cost of the vehicle. In no case will insurance cover.

What are the steps to follow if I have lost the keys to the rental vehicle?

You will have to contact Punta Marina Rent a Car Customer Service and inform them about it. You will be charged for the cost of the key, as well as shipping the new key. Unfortunately this is not covered by insurance.

You must also inform the nearest police station and secure the vehicle to prevent possible theft.

Once you have a copy of the key, for security reasons, you must go to the Punta Marina Rent a Car Offices and change the vehicle. The exchange is free and the only condition will be that you must return the car with a full tank of fuel.
